A leading investment services provider is looking to add a talented ODD professional to their newly created team in the Middle East. They offer customised advice at every stage of the investment decision, risk management and investment monitoring process. This Middle Eastern based team is a niche, highly skilled group, focused on advising investment managers in relation to all aspects of investment operations, including designing and implementing target operating models, firm wide governance, validating the robustness of existing operations infrastructures and conducting Operational Due Diligence reviews on third party managers.

Due to increasing client demand in the region, they continue to build a specialist team focused on investment operations consulting. They are looking to employ an experienced individual who has a deep understanding of the financial services industry and the operational functions of investment managers gained through hands-on experience in a diverse range of operational roles.

Key duties will include the following:

  • Working as an integral part of a senior team participating in and managing Operational Consulting projects
  • Acting as the ‘right hand’ person to the Head of the Group
  • Driving new business opportunities and revenue generation
  • Enhancing marketing materials and value proposition
  • Creating and contributing to RFP’s
  • Leading Operational Due Diligence reviews and Operational Consulting projects
  • Providing specialist recommendations to clients in written reports and presentation-style deliverables
  • Advising institutional clients on relevant global operational best practice standards
  • Working with other Lines of Business to deliver specialist investment operations advice as part of project delivery
  • Raising the profile of the team in the region by collaborating with the media and contributing to thought leadership, as well as their overall intellectual capital
  • Representing the company at a senior level at industry forums and events
  • Responding to queries from clients and consultants
  • Contributing to manager and/or specialist research projects
  • Driving ad hoc projects, as required
  • The role requires potentially extensive regional and global travel and extended periods away from the office. Applicants should be willing to commit to such requirement.

The person:

  • Strong academic qualifications and a university level education are essential
  • Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) and project management qualifications are highly desirable
  • In depth, specialist knowledge of asset management operations is essential
  • Demonstrable record of previous operational consulting projects and advising institutional clients is highly desirable
  • Previous experience conducting Operational Due Diligence and/or Investment Due Diligence
  • Extensive project management skills with demonstrable experience in change management, organisational/process enhancement and re-engineering
  • Advanced report writing skills and excellent written and oral command of English
  • Demonstrates outstanding presentation skills
  • Takes ownership for own work, always ensuring standards and deadlines are met and keeping others informed and up-to-date
  • Experience and being comfortable dealing with senior executives, both at the client and asset manager level
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Advanced PowerPoint skills are highly desirable
  • Works well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
  • Is culturally understanding and promotes principles of diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Openly shares information and own expertise with colleagues
  • Possesses excellent team working skills
  • Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn and a positive work ethic
