My client a Global Investment Bank is looking for electronic trading Test Champions to complement existing standards of controls and governance. The Test Champion will work within the Risks & Controls Governance team which reports into the head of electronic trading and strategic analytics (“strats”). The candidate will be business aligned across Foreign Exchange, Interest Rates & Debts and Equities Electronic Trading and will help management independently assess risk through close collaboration on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities: 

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Implement in-depth risk assessments of algorithms both in periodic reviews and on changes
  • Review and challenge testing outcomes and source code from test engineers and assist in test designs for pre-defined risk scenarios
  • Review and challenge standards of control, often within the algorithm code itself, with relevant algorithm owners
  • Design and document standards for testing for trading algorithms
  • Assist in the build-out of a conduct risks assessment framework for algorithmic trading
  • Chair trading algorithms change review forums
  • Perform electronic trading assessment peer reviews by becoming an expert on the relevant electronic trading systems and business
  • Be an independent signoff party to material changes to trading algorithm strategies
  • Help drive risk and control programs as and where appropriate
  • Lead ad-hoc projects across global markets to enhance the risk and control standards


  • previous relevant experience such as in model validation, trading, software development, production management and/or quality assurance of trading algorithms
  • Strong knowledge of analytical and data science tools such as Machine Learning
  • Experience in programming in a mixed language environment such as Java, Python and C++
  • Experience with KDB time series database with Q as a programming language
