Objectives
  • EMEA Controllers are an independent control function ensuring completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records. It is part of the EMEA Finance organization
  • This new position within EMEA Regional Controllers has been created in part in response to the Consent Order and Citi's Transformation. The successful candidate will be part of the EMEA Controller team dedicated to the identification and remediation of key gaps in the financial reporting processes.
  • In partnership with other cross-functional teams, the individual in this role will support the EMEA Controllers' contribution to global Finance Transformation initiatives including Data and Adjustment Reduction covering both US and local GAAP
  • The individual in this role will be responsible and accountable for the other members of the team and will interact with Senior Management within Finance, FRSS, Operations, Data services etc.
Core Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the analysis and development of both tactical and strategic remediation plans to address specific gaps in the Consent Order analysis.
  • Active participation in working group sessions as SME to identify and facilitate creation of detailed action plans and commitments to Consent Order targets.
  • Represent EMEA Controllers in cross functional working groups for key reporting functions, including Books & Records, Reporting and Data.
  • To meet project plan deadlines and key milestones related to project completion.
  • To contribute to process improvement efforts and to control enhancements resulting from changes in operation models.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with function leadership to inform and advise on both ongoing transformation work and areas of opportunity
  • Play a key role in supporting the execution and delivery of Adjustment Reduction and Finance Data program for EMEA Controllers.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders and colleagues
  • Present results/findings and make recommendations to senior management
  • Adapt to changing circumstances - the prioritization of tasks may evolve with changing circumstances.
  • Monitor and track delivery of activity against milestones, including managing dependencies across related projects
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5 - 7 + years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance or business-related fields in Financial Services.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and strategic thinking skills to engage with senior managers and demystify technical intricacies in language and context relevant to a broader audience
  • Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to identify problems and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and demonstrated agile execution skills.
  • Proficient in use of digital and analytical tools (PowerBI/Tableau) a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to challenge teams towards clear delivery plans across geography, function and other organizational structures.
