About the opportunity
Department Description

TIS - Middlware and Data Services engineers and maintains multiple products underpinning Fidelity's internal and external applications. Within Middleware, the Global Digital Security team is responsible for Customer Identity and Access management and API management solutions. Theses solutions are used globally across Fidelity to provide Web and Mobile digital security and support the API ecosystem respectively.

Purpose of the Role

This role is to support Global Digital Security team in providing operational support and engineering for API Management and Customer Identity and Access Management solutions. This includes architecting solutions, building reference applications and guiding the wider team to drive strategic solutions working with Global Enterprise Architecture group, Business, Security and product teams.
Your ability to establish trusted relationships with key business clients, create cost effective global solutions with the team in a structured way, to drive change, prioritise delivery and challenge existing processes will be the key to your success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support transition of operational support of Apigee from Architecture to Technology Infrastructure Services.
  • Provide operational support and engineering for Fidelity's API platforms.
  • Continuous improvement of automation and self-service capability for API platforms.
  • Drive adoption of API ecosystem within the organisation working with stakeholders across Technology and the Business.
  • Work with Global Architecture group to drive API strategy.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to Senior Leadership Team on API Strategy.
  • To assist with training/coaching team members and exposing them to new technologies.
There will be plenty of opportunity for a strong candidate to make a significant difference both within the team - through process improvements, work prioritisation and client engagement, and across Fidelity - especially in delivering cost effective technical solutions to support the evolving requirements of the Digital business.

Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Strong experience of API Gateway product management & development experience in Google Apigee and ideally also CA API Gateway.
  • Solutions architect level experience designing and implementing API strategies.
  • Experience with supporting and delivering Cloud based infrastructure.
  • Strong Experience in Digital Security standards such as SAML, OAuth2 and OIDC.
  • Good working knowledge of Networks, Databases, Security, Application & Infrastructure design
  • Experience of Web Access Management products (e.g. Siteminder, Ping Access)
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP layer Transactions, sessions, cookies, caching, compression, encryption, all web clients, all web servers.
  • Practical experience in Agile development methods - Scrum, Kanban, TDD, BDD, etc
  • Sound knowledge of industry best practice regarding Service Management (E.g. ITIL)
