About EDHEC Scientific Analytics
As part of its policy of transferring know-how to the industry, EDHEC is setting up a new venture, Scientific Analytics (ESA). It is an original Fintech initiative aiming to become the global reference for measuring and managing the financial and non-financial risks of an asset owner’s portfolio through learning resources, tools, and services.
EDHEC Scientific Analytics aims to create a unique platform comprising a knowledge and education centre and an array of innovative web-based tools with the ambition of becoming a reference for institutional investors. A comprehensive platform of this kind will allow investors to make investment decisions rooted in scientific research.
Drawing on almost 20Y of activity with asset owners through its research departments and its business ventures, EDHEC is in an ideal position to take on this new endeavour. ESA is the latest of a series of initiatives setup by EDHEC in its effort to develop the connection between academic research and the investment industry, among which:
Deputy Director of Research in charge of Climate and ESG Risk – One vacancy in London or Paris – Full-time position
As part of its R&D effort, ESA is recruiting a Deputy Director of Research, in charge of climate and ESG risks. There are ambitious plans for this position: the research team will actively participate in the development of a firm that has a worldwide business plan and appropriate funding for this ambition.
The ideal candidate has significant experience in an equivalent position within an institutional investor or asset manager firm. The candidate’s academic record must certify genuine competence not only in advanced quantitative techniques, but also a strong focus on issues related to climate change and ESG risks. A PhD would be a highly appreciated bonus. In addition, the candidate will have published research papers on quantitative portfolio construction, climate change, ESG risks or factor allocation implementation.
In addition to theoretical expertise, the successful candidate will also have a strong interest in the development of concrete investment solutions. The candidate will have the verbal and written communication skills to convey R&D conclusions to a broad audience through various media (whitepapers, webinars, videos, conferences).
Written and spoken English is essential. An EU work permit is mandatory.
