Our client, a reputable investment management firm in London is looking to recruit an experienced business analyst to join a data focused decommissioning project for an initial 6 month piece.

The Role

Responsibilities / daily activities will include but are not limited to:

  • To confirm all operating processes exist or specify requirements for any new processes/developments
  • As the Programme develops perform interviews, analysis document, run workshops, undertake site visits, define or record business process, undertake walkthrough day in the life prototyping scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal parties to analyse information needs, functional requirements, existing capabilities and feasibility. With the objective of delivering a clear implementation framework
  • Using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies
  • Working independently and with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
  • Driving and challenging business unit and external parties on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Leveraging strong analytical and product management skills required to gain a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into applicable operational requirements
  • Serving as the conduit between all parties and the implementation team through which requirements flow
  • Developing requirements specifications according to standard templates and standards
  • Collaborating with implementation teams, supply lines and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs
  • Acting as a liaison between the business units, implementation teams and support teams
  • Assistance with the production of key documents as required:
    • Project Initiation Document
    • Project plan
    • Target Operating Model validation
    • Function landscape
    • IT application landscape
    • User requirements and process outlines
    • Due diligence reports on outsourced providers
    • Service provider specification
    • Contract and SLA reviews
    • Budget

Demonstrable experience in providing Business Analysis skills within projects is essential as is a proven track record in the following areas:

  • Strong BA with business stakeholder mgmt. (5 years' experience)

  • Effective problem solving skills
  • Ability to build good relationships internally and externally
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly with MS Excel and Visio
