Data Scientist / Data Science / Machine Learning / Python, R / Dask, Spark / Quantitative background The Senior data scientist’s role includes: deliver data science projects in conjunction with quant and dealing teams. Test and develop machine learning/deep learning strategies. Working with the team to standardise codebase (for modelling pipelines) and data queries (defining variables) in the interest of speeding up deliveries. Senior and Junior level role available.

The Senior data scientist’s role includes: deliver data science projects in conjunction with quant and dealing teams. Test and develop machine learning/deep learning strategies. Working with the team to standardise codebase (for modelling pipelines) and data queries (defining variables) in the interest of speeding up deliveries.  

Essential skills:

  • applying Machine Learning/Deep learning methodologies in relevant domains; Time Series Forecasting, predictive modelling, NLP, Computer vision or RL
  • convert a non-technical problem description into a model / formal piece of analysis and explain derived insights
  • Ideally experience with Python and its associated ML/DL API’s (Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow / keras or PyTorch, PyMc3). OR other high-level programming languages (R, Julia, Rust or others).
  • Knowledge and experience of Relational Databases (Oracle, Postgres, Sybase or SQL-Server) and/or exposure to high frequency tick programming software – HDF5, KDB+ or OneTick
  • Experience in distributed computing frameworks (Dask and Spark) any exposure to any one of parallel programming frameworks (MPI, OpenSHMEM, Charm++ and Legion)
  • Highly quantitative background, gained through a combination of work experience and an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in STEM
