Data Content Team Leader

The Opportunity:

Data Management is responsible for delivering business critical data across multiple stakeholders and applications through services including Data Content, Valuation Governance, Business Data Analysis, Market Data Services and Data Governance.

The role represents an excellent opportunity to be part of the critical Data Content team, focussed on delivering accurate data to all business units in a timely manner. It also provides a great opportunity to develop an understanding of the M&G business and the data environment which supports it.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player with an excellent attitude, wanting to learn how the Data Content team deliver to high standards daily and get involved from the outset.

What we are looking for:

You will take pride in working to a high standard, and thrives within a changing environment, showing initiative and drive. It is highly important that you are a proactive self-starter, with the ability to identify problems and have the drive to follow them through to resolution. Good interpersonal skills are a must, with the ability to record and communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally. You will display an understanding of valuations and instruments across various asset classes (e.g. Fixed Income, Equities, ETD & OTC Derivatives) and experience within an operational or investment role. Knowledge of financial and reference data is essential, (i.e. Securities, Position, Transaction, Fund, Benchmark, Credit Rating, Counterparty). You will have excellent attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently to set deadlines. The ability to generate and maintain positive relationships within the team and across the business, is highly important for this role. You will also have good working knowledge of Bloomberg and Microsoft Office.

You will be willing to gain an understanding of the M&G IT infrastructure and data environment, as well as learning the Prudential / M&G Structure and the key business units which Data Management supports. You will also increase your knowledge of clients, products and the regulations under which they operate. You must be keen to advance your Excel skills and achieve relevant qualifications such as IOC / IMC.
