Our Client an established International Commodity Trading House require a Credit Analyst reporting to the Head of Credit.

Credit Analyst

Position Summary

The employee, under the supervision and guidance of the European Credit Director, will be responsible for a variety of credit related activities including, but not limited to, ensuring that the current credit policy is followed, undertaking credit reviews of existing and new customers, preparing credit reports and liaising with the various desks and functions to ensure that corporate targets are met.

Main responsibilities and activities

• Preparing credit reports and grading applications in order to obtain approval from credit department;
• Analysing customer financial data and other related market information;
• Monitoring customers’ creditworthiness and periodically obtaining information of their financial status and the industrial environment;
• Negotiating and discussing with other departments credit approval and controls; and
• Developing SharePoint (an internal intranet) and ensuring that all credit files are saved to SharePoint  

Key Skills and Experience:

• The candidate will ideally have 2 to 3 years’ experience of working as a corporate credit analyst within a trading environment.  However, we will consider candidates that have under 2 years of experience within a financial and accounting role, and are willing to learn 
• Experience in credit, financial analysis and dealing with transactions;
• Knowledge of a trading business;
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and dynamic environment;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels and capable of interacting confidently, both internally and externally;
• Strong organisational skills and must be able to work under pressure;
• Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing;
• High level of attention to detail;
• A professional, proactive and organised approach to work;
• A positive and helpful attitude and the willingness to grow;
• Must possess sound IT skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Ideally educated to degree level in either Business, Accounting or Economics; and
• Language skills in German would be an advantage
