Credit Risk - Senior Manager, Private Credit
Private Credit has an opportunity for a Senior Manager to join our Credit Risk Team in the London office.

Private Credit has provided private debt offerings to institutional investors since 2012. Having become a market leader in the infrastructure debt asset class, and against a back-drop of increased demand for private assets, it has recently broadened its client offering with additional product capabilities, in Commercial Ground Leases and Fund Finance.

You will work in the Credit Risk Team and contribute to the continued growth and success of the platform. You will work across the full suite of Private Credit's product offerings in infrastructure debt, commercial ground leases and fund finance. This team combines the best of Macquarie's deep credit risk experience with a flexible and highly dynamic approach to investing for our clients and growing the opportunity for the business.

As part of the Credit Risk Team, you will perform an independent credit risk role alongside the Investment Team. You will be responsible for the assessment and analysis of new investment opportunities, providing guidance on deal parameters and structuring to the investment team as well as independent advice and recommendations to the Investment Committee and assisting with the ongoing management of existing portfolio assets.

You will work in a small team, reporting to the Head of Risk for Private Credit. Your responsibilities will require you to:
  • review and analyse potential investments to ensure that they are well structured and meet client investment guidelines
  • undertake and review due diligence on potential investments
  • review and run sensitivities on financial models
  • assess and comment on finance documents and commercial contracts
  • assess the credit rating and loss given default for proposed investments
  • analyse counterparty credit risk
  • present and make recommendations to the Investment Committee
  • present to institutional investor clients
  • have responsibility for aspects of ongoing portfolio management including to monitor counterparty and industry developments and review and assess ad hoc borrower requests
  • support the Head of Risk to maintain and enhance the risk culture.

Your experience in infrastructure, project finance, real estate or fund lending, your knowledge of debt sizing, cashflow and ratio analysis and experience with rating models will be well utilised in this role. Your familiarity with a range of specialist project finance, infrastructure or real estate due diligence materials and reports will be essential in this role. You will be comfortable with legal documents such as loan agreements and project agreements.

As a motivated and proactive individual, you will be able to execute critical work streams with limited supervision and direction. You will be highly numerate, with sound business judgement and a pragmatic approach to problem solving. Your outstanding interpersonal and team-working skills will enable you to build and maintain relationships with team members, the Investment Committee, colleagues across the Macquarie Group and institutional investor clients.
