Department Overview:

In this domain the Credit Team is responsible for completing the credit analysis for financial institutions and various other clients (including due diligence when necessary).

In particular, the credit team ensure that credit analysis and recommendations are provided in due time for Banks, Sovereign, Brokers, other non-banks financial institutions, pensions funds, funds, hedge funds, regulated funds, funds of hedge funds, agency arrangements and asset managers (Sovereigns & Insurance companies being not covered). 

Scope of responsibilities:

This Analyst will help strengthen the Credit Analysts team based in London. He/She will handle general credit analysis tasks on a given portfolio of clients mainly composed of Regulated funds, principals traded through agents, Hedge Funds and Fund of Hedge Funds.

The population of clients concerned are not specifically UK clients but could be incorporated in other countries mainly in the following 3 regions: Americas, APAC and Continental Europe.

Although based in London, the analyst will work in close collaboration with the credit teams in the other regions notably when he/she has to perform a credit analysis on a client outside the UK.

To comply with his/her mission, the analyst will be given the necessary training in terms of Credit Analysis procedures and processes.

Main responsibilities are the followings:

  • In collaboration with the regional credit teams, perform the credit analysis for the assigned portfolio. This encompasses performing and writing credit analysis and providing credit and rating/Loss Given Default recommendations. The credit analysis should be done in accordance with the internal procedures and risk guidelines applicable to the population of clients concerned.
  • Formalise the credit analysis and decisions in the credit workflow tool.
  • Ensure an adequate quality of credit file.
  • Participate and present files to credit committees.
  • Perform due diligences (when necessary).

Skills & Experience RequiredExperience:

  • Experience in corporate credit analysis within a UK bank.
  • Credit analysis on large corporate clients – FSTE 100 or FSTE 250 companies.
  • Knowledge of banking products from a credit risk perspective, including:
    1. Plain vanilla commercial and corporate banking products (overdrafts, syndicated lending, term loans, cash management, guarantees and performance bond lines).
    2. Global markets products (including swaps, currency, commodities and other derivatives)
