Cost Accountant - 7 Month FTC

The Opportunity:

An opportunity exists for the appointment of a Cost Accountant within the Financial Planning & Analysis team, reporting to the Functional Manager.

The team interacts with Finance and HR.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

* Provide accurate actual and rolling forecast costs for assigned departments to required deadlines…
o Review monthly actuals and book accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
o Liaise with HR on open recruitment and update Hyperion workforce cube. Support the recruitment process as required.
o Collect forecast information from the Finance Business Partner (FBP) team and update in Hyperion.
o Update and review control checks to ensure accuracy of information held in Hyperion.
o Report actual expenditure and rolling forecast costs to the Finance Business Partners (FBP) team.
o Respond to queries relating to actuals and workforce rolling forecast using understanding of departmental costs.
o Highlight variance overspends requiring sign off by the Approvals Policy.
* Complete balance sheet reconciliations for cost related balance sheet accounts.
* Provide cost information to International, tax and statutory reporting teams, as required.
* Maintain the authority panels in Aria for expense and invoice limits. Provide reports for annual sign off.
* Review chart of account cost related requests and initiate updates required from agreed changes.
* Build and maintain effective relationships and communication channels with Finance teams and HR.
* Continuously seek to develop and improve processes within the team and promote knowledge sharing across Finance, providing technical expertise as required.
* Maintain procedure notes in line with process improvements.

What we are looking for:

It is important for you to be able to understand and manage tightly controlled processes with good attention to detail. You will have the ability to work accurately under pressure using excellent planning and organisation skills. You must also be capable of working well with systems and Excel. It is essential for you to be able to identify problems and drive them through to resolution, alongside improving processes and implementing change. You must be comfortable and confident working as part of a mutually supportive team using strong interpersonal and communication skills. It is required for you to be either part qualified or a newly qualified accountant. Experience of Hyperion and SUN will also be needed within the role.
