Background on the Position
As part of its development programme in the area of climate finance, and in order to strengthen its research potential on measuring and managing climate risks for investors’ portfolios, the EDHEC group is recruiting a Senior Research Engineer in London, UK, within the “Advanced Factor & ESG Investing” Research Chair supported by EDHEC and Scientific Beta. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Scientific Beta Research Director and of the EDHEC Risk Institute.

The ideal candidate for the position would have
We recognize that few candidates will display strong skills in all these areas, and therefore candidates that excel in one or two of the areas above and have the aptitude and the interest to fill up their knowledge gap(s) in the other area(s) will certainly be considered.
A typical profile would be an engineering graduate from a leading engineering school or university with subsequent experience and/or training in finance, a PhD graduate with a doctorate in one of the hard sciences, in finance or in economics, or a Post-doctoral fellow.
Experience in a research position in the financial industry and specific expertise in the area of climate finance would be a plus.
The successful candidate will participate in the research conducted at EDHEC, at the EDHEC Risk Institute and within Scientific Beta at the intersection of asset management and climate change, and will work on analysis, optimization, stochastic modelling. The successful candidate will combine empirical, computational and theoretical work. He/she may be required to present their research at seminars and conferences, so good presentation skills would be an added bonus.
The successful candidate must be able to satisfy the legal requirements for working in the UK.
