Department overview:

Regulatory Operations EMEA is split into three teams who are responsible for daily operational oversight and management of regulatory day to day processes ensuring compliance for transaction reporting/GTR and client assets. In addition the team is responsible for assessing impact to these processes by future regulatory legislation ensuring regulatory change governance.

Role description:

This role requires the successful individual to be/have

  • Full understanding of the FCA requirements as they relate to Client Assets including all relevant CASS rules, Principles and SYSC
  • Develop an understanding of the requirements of the Client Assets BOW and providing input and guidance from an Operations perspective and aiding timely delivery and closure of BOW items
  • Develop a full understand of Nomura's systems and processes resulting in the ability to perform a detailed assessment of where Client money and assets arise as a result of new products and processes being implemented. Assist in the review and signoff on New Business and New Product assessments
  • Assist in the performance of the Client Assets BAU functions including Client money sign off, CASS RP maintenance, CMAR validation, KRI collation.
  • Manage the CASS RP process including weekly attestations, quarterly testing and annual CASS RP refresh
  • Review and approve the monthly Client Money Asset Return process which would include validating each area of the report
  • Manage the completion and approval of both the daily client money MIS and weekly client money KRI
  • Manage the issue documentation process which would include communicating with all areas involved, documenting the issue and adhering to the escalation procedure
  • Maintenance of the CASS risk and control documentation which would include managing the attestation process and the periodic refresh
  • Management of the CASS monthly statement process including the exception management process
  • Annual update and distribution of the firms CASS training
  • Managing a team of two who's role it is to complete the daily CASS process. This would include ensuring that the individuals are aware of regulatory or process change and cross training is completed as necessary
