Maintainsand supports applications and their operating environments. Coordinatesproduction support activities for systems and related subsystems to ensure theintegrity of computer generated data. Resolves moderately complex softwareapplication problems. Escalates issues to management. Monitors changes toapplications and their operating environment. Analyzes any issues of moderatecomplexity and reports on and documents solutions. Leads applicationchange management functions through the administration of softwareconfiguration management products and participates in the development ofstandards to support these functions. Ensures proper capacity planning,documentation, and business recovery procedures/plans are in place for theproduction and development environments under his/her purview. Developsand maintains processing standards and procedures related to the informationprocessing environment. Looks for new and better ways to improve theenvironment, ensuring a quality product. Conducts surveys, feasibility studies,and benchmarks of software and development tools and technologies. Assists insupporting the achievement of team objectives. Primaryjob duties to include:
Infrastructure support, Support of BNY Melloncustomizations, Participate in Agile based software development model, Providesguidance on technical subject matter to associates, Troubleshooting moderate tocomplex issues, Contributes to the achievement of team objectives, Provides offhour support as needed
Bachelor'sdegree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent workexperience required, advanced degree is beneficial, 6-8 years of diverseexperience in information technology required, experience in the securities orfinancial services industry is a plus. Preferred 5-7 years of experience supporting ordeveloping applications.
S/he must be experienced with new application development as well asapplication support. S/he must have strong analytical and problem-solvingskills and quickly learn new application systems andtechnology. S/he must have ability to communicate clearly andconcisely, both orally and in writing.
