Our client is a leading real estate investor based in London. The firm are seeking to hire a Capital Markets Associate, ideally with Real Estate/Property experience, to assist with capital raising across the European and North American markets for new funds and co-mingled accounts. The Associate will support the Partners in all aspects of the capital raising process including extensive business development.

Role & Responsibilities

  • A successful institutional fundraising track record
  • 4 – 8 years relevant industry experience
  • Production of presentations, teasers, RFPs, client questionnaires, prospect trackers and investor documentation
  • Preparing tailored marketing and due diligence materials for investors
  • Arranging, coordinating and managing investor road-shows on a global basis
  • Undertaking research including drafting briefing notes
  • Modelling of funds and assisting in the analysis of real estate investments, cash flow and valuations
  • Taking part in meetings with both new and prospective investors/clients
  • Assisting with updating CRM system and client reporting
  • Supporting the team’s marketing efforts including contacting/following-up investors and buildings relationships

Qualification, experience and qualities: 

  • A successful institutional fundraising track record
  • Proven experience working within an advisor, investment manager or asset manager
  • Those with experience within the real estate market will be at an advantage
  • Strong network of contacts within the institutional real estate  investment community
  • Demonstrable personal relationships with European institutional investors, with a network across pension firms,  banks, insurance companies and advisors
  • Clear ability and credibility to pitch new investors and close business effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communications
  • Confident and able to operate effectively with autonomy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic and integrity
  • Resourceful, self-motivated and able to use initiative
  • A self-starter who is willing to roll up sleeves but also knows when to seek guidance
  • Collegiate and team-oriented
  • Strong presentation skills  with advanced us of Microsoft Office including Excel & PowerPoint
  • Fluent English and those with an additional European language like German or French would be an advantage but not a prerequisite.
