Our client is a pioneering fintech start-up helping millennials re-define their relationship with money, with the UK's first ever app built for their area of personal finance / investing. The company is 2 years into their journey, secured an initial round of funding and launched a Beta product working closely with early adopters to further iterate, receiving some great feedback and traction in the process.
2022 will be an exciting year as they go through their next round of funding in Q1 and a full-scale UK roll out, before expansion into the USA in 2023. They've also attracted some high profile fintech non-execs and struck a partnership with a top 10 global asset manager, all of which is testament to the pioneering nature of their app - so everything is coming together nicely for them!
The product has been built and technical environment managed by a technology consultancy, but it's time to appoint a CTO who can take full technical ownership and join the founder on the coming high growth journey.
The CTO is a key hire, taking full responsibility for the technical environment from the consultancy, bringing the technical stack 'in house' (front end react native, back end firebase). Whilst it's expected you'll get 'hands on' with development of the platform, the CTO will also build the technology team from the ground up to further develop, test, release and support the platform. Owning the product / service architecture strategy and technological roadmap, you will have complete autonomy to ensure the platform scales efficiently by driving rapid, agile execution of the product roadmap.
As you can appreciate it's a critical hire for the company as they continue to build a winning product, attract further investment and adopt more users, so looking for the following in the CTO:
- Firstly you don't need to have held the CTO role in a company, so happy to consider applicants in a team lead role ready to take on the technology leadership role in a small but rapidly growing fintech.
- Experience architecting technology solutions from the ground up with the ability to build a world class system architecture that is reliable, secure and scales.
- Full stack app development (consumer, personal finance or investing app experience would be ideal).
- Experience with automated testing.
- An interest in finance would be a bonus.
