Do you have at least two years of Business Intelligence experience with a solid understanding of data and reporting? Do you have strong SQL skills and experience of Microsoft BI software including SSIS development? If so we have a new opportunity for you as a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Business Intelligence team here at Transact.
Our award-winning, recently FTSE 250 listed wrap platform already has a loyal following from a large number of financial advisers and planners in the UK – and for good reason. First established in 2000 we have over 159,000 client investment portfolios (31st March 2018) and £31.9 billion of funds under direction (31st June 2018).
Our service includes an online platform, owned and built by us, and dedicated regional adviser support to bring assets and investments together in a smarter, more tax efficient way.
The investments held on the platform may sit within Wrappers that enjoy certain tax advantages and typically include ISAs, SIPPs, Personal Pensions and Investment Bonds. Our customers are investors and their financial advisors. With access to our wrap platform, both the investor and their financial adviser are able to see an up to date valuation of the portfolio at a glance.
There is an increasing emphasis on business intelligence in order to draw insight from the data. We expect the successful candidate to use their experience to help us drive this forward.
Your main responsibility will be to help maintain the high quality of information provided to the business for decision support and regulatory reporting.
The day to day role will include the following:
- Interrogating the company's data (in both the data warehouse and the main source system) in order to provide effective MI/BI and reporting to the various business areas.
- Gathering requirements from stakeholders.
- Testing new releases of the BI software.
To do this effectively you will collaborate with and influence colleagues and key stakeholders across the business. You'll have strong data modelling & SQL experience and any other data warehouse experience which will enable you to deliver high quality analysis. We're fast paced and things constantly change so you'll embrace this and adapt in a way that drives projects forward.
You ideally will have a proven track record within Financial Services, educated to degree level or equivalent. You need a sound experience of SQL, Microsoft BI software – SSIS, Power BI and Excel with a willingness and ability to learn new skills. Any experience with SSAS, Tabular, DAX, MDX or BIML would be a bonus. At least two years data analysis is required, testing experience would be useful as would any statistics/mathematics qualifications. This is a business facing role so strong written and verbal communication is essential with an ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
