Purpose of the Role:

Currenex is a market-leading technology provider offering the FX community high-performance technology and deep pools of liquidity for anonymous and disclosed trade execution.

The Business Development Specialist for Currenex will accept ownership and accountability for: business development cross selling and revenue retention efforts for a named group of accounts. They will also be directly responsible for new client acquisitions for Currenex and provide an overall contribution to the success of Currenex within State Street Global Markets.

Major Responsibilites:

Role specifics

  • Ownership and accountability for: business development cross selling and revenue retention efforts for a named group of accounts
  • Responsible for new client acquisitions for Currenex
  • Reviewing industry publications to identify market opportunities and trends
  • Updating sales reporting and forecasting tools
  • Provide an overall contribution to the success of Currenex within State Street Global Markets.
  • Attend market conferences and industry conventions to understand market infrastructure and generate new business opportunities.

Level of Education/Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required and/or relevant professional qualification of 3+ years’ experience in foreign exchange or related markets.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ideal candidate will have proven foreign exchange experience in the financial sector preferable selling execution tools
  • A strong understanding of the front office middle office and back office FX trading functions and workflow.
  • Strong computer skills MS Office (PowerPoint Excel Word) and Visio
  • Strong analytical and organization skills.
  • Strong sales and relationship management skills.

Required Competencies:

  • Proven track record of driving business development relationship management and serving clients.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of foreign exchange products.
  • Proven initiative in building strong client relationships and resolving client problems.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation.
  • Conversant in all appropriate regulations surrounding the provision of Globallink products to clients
  • Proven strong presentation skills
  • Fully aware of all procedures best practices escalation policies and other codes of conduct relevant to the execution of the role
