Purpose of your role

Reporting to the Business Development Sales Head for the South/North , the BDM is responsible for achieving and exceeding sales targets. The BDM will have no direct line management responsibilities.

Your role with involve interaction with other stakeholders including:

- Regional, Office Based and Strategic Accounts Sales teams
- Advisory Services
- UK Operations, call centre & customer relationships
- FundsNetwork Propositions, Marketing and Fund teams
- UK Finance
- Direct & Wholesale teams
- UK Compliance & Risk Management

Your key accountabilities
  • Development and implementation of segmentation and sales strategies for the region. Ensuring sales targets are achieved by establishing strong sales and relationship management protocols, and ensuring that sales and servicing activity is highly focused and productive.
  • Responsibility for managing relationships with key accounts within the region and the development of business across the region.
  • Developing strong personal relationships with key individuals at client firms.
  • Applying a structured and proactive approach to account management, including use of CRM systems where available.
  • Working collaboratively with other members of the team, including Business Development Desk
  • Taking an active role in organising and delivering workshops and events.
  • Providing feedback and market intelligence to assist in the development and evolution of Fidelity's products, services and strategies for clients.
Your skills and experience
  • In-depth understanding of the adviser marketplace
  • Demonstrable success selling to advisers
  • Strong technical ability and understanding of the application of trusts and the implications of choosing given solutions
  • In possession of or willing to work towards the highest standard of industry qualifications
  • Understanding of the developing UK platform and wrap market and the regulatory landscape as it affects platforms, asset managers and advisers
  • Strong understanding and experience of the pensions market
  • Understanding of the offshore bond market
  • Commercial acumen
  • Resilience to pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Resourceful and a quick learner
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels of business (both internally and externally)
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and understanding of business priorities
