LGBT Great is the platform of 50+ financial services organisations working together to improve sustainability. We provide our corporate members with the influence, insights, and visibility they need to build trust with the LGBT+ community to enhance business, reputation, and talent. We have identified a significant market opportunity for the LGBT Great proposition and have been successful in attracting lots of members to our memberships model. We are looking for you to drive forward and convert current opportunities into new business.

The Business Development Manager will be empowered to follow up and leverage opportunities to convert prospects into business from E2E. The role provides the opportunity to win new business and to help us grow our brand. You will be empowered to cultivate and nurture relationships with your prospects, helping them to understand how we can connect them with the visibility of LGBT talent and allies, awareness training, and access to unique data and insights with the information and tools they need to enhance their diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies, and keep abreast of important LGBT+ issues.

What are the Role Responsibilities and your opportunities to shine?


Prospecting and Developing LGBT Great member relationships.

Generating new business and leveraging current prospects.

Mapping out organisations that we want to be working with.

Understanding the full breadth of the LGBT Great solution and developing strategic, value led conversations with LGBTQ Network Leaders and Executive Sponsors.


Developing specialist knowledge to help deepen LGBT Great’s membership offering.

Deepening knowledge around LGBT inclusion adding value to LGBT Great Members, Careers Clients, and Training Clients.

Assessing where LGBT Great Members are in their LGBT strategies and spotting the gaps. Taking a forensic level approach to what the firms are doing so we can understand how we can map back some of the things that LGBT Great can support them with.

Representing LGBT Great at external events and conferences where required.


Securing new members and partners to LGBT Great.

Leading new business development and sales activities.

Leading the sales process from open to close, drawing on member insights to both help identify potential targets and develop sales materials to highlight the value of LGBT Great’s membership proposition.


What will you bring to LGBT Great?


Knowledge and Experience:


The knowledge needed to fully fulfil the role opportunities and requirements:

Experience working with external stakeholders, preferably senior stakeholders.

Experience in B2B, preferably selling into large, complex financial services or FinTech companies.

Proven Financial Services experience.

Experience in selling or being part of a sales pipeline of larger organisations.

A strong understanding of knowing the steps in which to confidently navigate sales calls with complex, corporate clients.

Ability to self-start, self-motivate and work independently as well as with the Global Managing Director.

Demonstrable experience of achieving targets and working to targets.

Ability to research, generate and actively pursue leads with prospective clients.

A solid understanding of the different lead generation processes and sales development life cycle.

Experience within a consulting, sales, recruitment and/or diversity business environment.

Experience writing sales or Business cases, proposals, sales enablement collateral.

An already established network which can be leveraged.

An aptitude to be able to influence and build credibility with the people you are connecting to.

Community building and networking skills, comfortable communicating with senior leaders.

Strong influencer and negotiator, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Tenacity to pursue new business and meet or exceed targets.



Ability to understand the needs of clients and be able to respond compellingly with a plan of how to meet them.

Ability to understand sales strategy and how LGBT+ inclusion translates.



Leveraging data and insights to help shape stakeholder thinking and decision-making.

Keep up to date of trends and changes in the financial services industry.

Have a good understanding of the business products and services and be able to advise clients about them.


Planning and organisation:

Self-motivated and delivery-oriented.

Exceptional organisational and team working skills.

A flexible and responsive approach to work but with the resilience to sustain working within the end-to-end process.

in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).


What is the recruitment process?

1. 1st Interview – Global Managing Director.

2. 2nd Interview – LGBT Great Team Members.

3. Final Interview - Team meet and greet at our offices.
