In the UK

As the company’s UK presence is in its early stages of development, it is important that each member of the growing team adopts a truly collegiate and team-based approach.  Although each member of the team will have their own core areas of responsibility, it is important that the founding members of the UK business adopt an entrepreneurial approach to their day to day tasks.  This may often require individuals to support others across the full spectrum of client activities.  The ambition is to prevent silos and encourage outstanding levels of communication, team work and support. 

At this point in time, the company manages €7.5 billion in assets for UK based clients, in various investment mandates such as fixed income, private equity, factor investing and emerging markets.  Clients include local authority and corporate sponsored pension schemes, insurance companies, discretionary wealth managers and private banks.  In addition to the aforementioned strategies, based on client and prospect interaction and feedback, the company believes there are particularly good opportunities for continued growth in UK client assets across various styles and capabilities in which it is proven to excel worldwide.

About the role

• Provide first class support to senior members of the London client team and broader business development group, whose objective is to build and deepen relationships with existing and prospective investors

• Create market intelligence, such as monitoring news wires for tenders and new business opportunities  

• Develop strong product and asset class knowledge demonstrating an interest in investment management

• Liaise with other members of the business development group to distribute and enhance marketing materials, leveraging the firm’s intellectual capital, (e.g. coordinate the distribution of research articles, white-papers, webinars and analysis) 

• Complete requests for proposal/information and due diligence questionnaires 

• Able to interact and form working relationships with the mainland Europe based investment teams

• Act as a point of contact for existing clients and be responsible for marshaling the full resources of the firm to coordinate responses to all investor inquiries 

• Coordinate and participate in client meetings and conference calls with our investors and prospects 

• Maintain up-to-date client data within CRM databases 

• Ability to project manage strategic initiatives locally and firmwide


Over time it is anticipated a successful candidate will take on greater individual responsibility for business development and can move into a front-line sales position, but it should be noted the initial focus on the role is supporting senior members of the front-line client and sales team.

 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business or a Science, Quantitative, or Engineering Program from a top-tier university. (Graduates of other disciplines with appropriate work experience will also be considered)

• 1-3 years of relevant post-undergraduate experience, this could be at an investment management organization, an investment consulting firm or investment bank 

• High proficiency in Office applications, such as PowerPoint and Excel 

• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in investment management

• Applications from individuals that have committed to their professional development, such as the pursuit of the CFA for example will be viewed favorably
