Financial Markets Feature Team

This is an outstanding opportunity in our Financial Market Feature Team within Group transformation. In this role, you'll be aligned to priority initiatives sought at delivering major new regulatory requirements, initially within Capital Requirements Directive (CRD) regulation Programme on the Strategic Regulatory Calculator (SCR) project.

About the role

The role will initially focus on data mapping of traded product data into the new vendor-supplied SRC. Therefore, the ability to communicate with subject matter authorities, architects and technical specialists will be key.

Throughout the project lifecycle, act as a facilitator to the definition and documentation of business and technical design, liaising with IT for system build activities and supporting all phases of testing. As a key member of the business analysis team, you'll support on key activities such as:

  • Supporting the lead business analyst in crafting the analysis approach
  • Requirements elicitation and analysis against regulations with partners.
  • Solution assessment, design and validation, data analysis and modelling
  • Target operating model and control framework design and documentation
  • Testing and other analysis activities as required

You'll have the opportunity to further develop your business analysis experience in an encouraging and structured environment, taking a lead role among other analysts and specialists in the team. CRD as part of Group Transformation is exploring the benefits of agile delivery methodologies with significant learning opportunities on offer.

There may also be ongoing opportunities to widen and stretch your capability, given the size and scope of the Programme which covers multiple areas including Credit Risk, Market Risk, ALM, Finance and Capital Reporting. What you'll be involved:

  • Performing analysis across data, process, reporting and controls including reconciliations and validations.
  • Liaising with technical colleagues to ensure requirements are clearly understood for all data feed build activities.
  • Ensuring all business / data analysis deliverables are completed in accordance with established processes, practices and procedures, and meet pre-defined standards of quality.
  • Identification, mitigation and raising concerns of risks and issues.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of BA techniques for driving delivery of appropriate solutions as quickly as possible and sharing of standard methodology within practice pool.
  • Executing functional and user acceptance testing cycles and performing analysis of results.

The skills background we're looking for

  • Strong experience in a Financial Services change environment or a consultancy, primarily as a Data / Business Analyst.
  • Strong background of business analysis, preferably in the delivery of regulatory change projects.
  • Good level of knowledge of Counterparty Credit Risk and Traded products.
  • Experienced in Data Analysis and Data Warehousing within a banking environment, strong SQL skills.
  • Confident user of Excel (Advanced Formulas, Data Connections/Queries, Pivot Tables), Access, Visio, MS Project etc.
  • Experience of working within a large project that has a high degree of complexity and a large number of internal (within risk) and external (across Group or third parties) partners.
  • Balance of strong critical thinking and analytical capability, together with a creative attitude.

We'll also look for someone with excellent attention to detail, a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and good self-management skills.

Experience of LBG systems and of LBG architecture and knowledge of prudential regulatory rules such as STDF, CRD IV, COREP, Pillar 3; and experience with IBM TM1 or similar reporting tools and XBRL based submissions; knowledge or experience of BCBS-239. Ideally, you'll hold a Finance/Risk or Business Analysis qualification and have exposure to delivery in an agile environment.

Base Salary: £38, 934 - £43, 260 plus 4% flexible cash pot, significant annual personal bonus %, 13% employer pension contribution, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.
