A top 10 accountancy practice are looking for an Associate VAT Director to join their team in London.

Goodman Masson are currently partnered with one of the UK's top 10 accounting firms looking for an Associate Director to join their growing VAT team with multiple locations across London. The role:

As an Associate Director on the VAT team, you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of VAT clients, working on consultancy and advisory projects alone and alongside Partners/Directors. There will be a focus on the business development of existing clients and growing the client portfolio. This role is 90% advisory and 10% compliance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overseeing a portfolio of VAT returns, compliance cases and advisory cases.
  • Manage consultancy work including VAT planning and its related impacts.
  • Engage with clients on wider commercial and strategic issues.
  • To recognise opportunities to further develop the client portfolio.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide on the job training to junior staff while dealing with staff questions.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) and/or tax advisor (CTA).
  • To be technically strong on all VAT matters and an expert in this field with significant experience in practice or industry.
  • Experienced in managing people, clients, and senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Project management experience.
  • An enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational skills and a desire to develop business.
