UI Toolkit team

In this role, you’ll sit in a rapidly growing, cross-functional, and cross-divisional team. Our mission is to design and develop the JPM User Interface Toolkit—a world-class design language and component library. It enables the firm to rapidly develop global digital experiences that are consistent, demonstrate strong brand identity and span multiple products and delivery channels.

 

The work

As a UX writer, you’ll support the evolution of the UI Toolkit. Collaborating with designers, developers, information architects, product owners and content strategists, you’ll create documentation that drives ease of implementation by following our guidelines for style, voice and tone.

Responsibilities include:

  • Edit and rewrite documentation for UI Toolkit offerings, including design components and patterns.
  • Write, edit and rewrite foundation education covering design, content, accessibility, etc.
  • Distill technical information for a broad audience.
  • Evaluate and audit existing content.
  • Drive for consistency in presentation and depth of detail.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to improve content.
  • Provide insights for improving the content experience.
  • Contribute improvements to the content guidelines.
  • Participate in discussions about UI Toolkit user experience.

Essential writing experience/understanding

  • Digital documentation editing/writing.
  • Brand and style book guidelines.
  • Content from many contributors edited into a consistent voice and tone.
  • Brand and style book guidelines.

Essential UX experience/understanding

  • Digital user experience.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts (e.g., design component functionality).

 

Preferred experience

  • Design systems.
  • Software development.
  • JavaScript, React.
  • Atomic design principles.
  • B2B financial services content.
  • AP Stylebook.

Every candidate interviewed will need to take a short editing test.
