The Role Responsibilities

Capital Forecasting

  • Make proposals to further enhance the Group's capital forecasting capabilities, in terms of capital resources, RWA, scenario modelling capabilities and the linkage to key financial metrics such as ROE, share price and EPS
  • Forecast and provide reporting management information to the Group and Solo capital position to senior stakeholders such as the Operational Balance Sheet Committee, Global Asset and Liability Committee and the Board
  • Support the Capital team in ensuring the Group is favourably positioned in light of regulatory changes such as MREL and TLAC
  • Build regulatory developments into the forecasting model and enhance issuance model capabilities

Capital Performance

  • Analyse and communicate the impact of key regulatory changes and related market developments on the capital position of SCB and selected peers
  • Propose capital optimisation solutions to senior management including Global Head, Capital and lead execution
  • Reporting to senior stakeholders on capital performance matters and associated commentary on underlying themes/implications at Group and Solo level
  • Provide support to management to understand the flow/deployment of the bank's equity capital throughout the Group and Solo to ensure business, country and regulatory requirements are met
  • Assist Investor Relations with understanding capital movements and key messaging at key reporting periods

Regulatory Engagement

  • Produce the monthly capital forecast submission and present to the Prudential Regulation Authority
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with the PRA and Treasury Capital
  • Assist in the production and review the capital sections of the Pillar 3 and Annual/Interim reports and be able to present key capital movements to seniors

Capital regulation interpretation

  • Be involved in capital regulation interpretation and provide impact assessment on the Group and Solo
  • Help propose mitigating actions for any adverse capital regulations in conjunction with Risk, Finance and business
  • Others
  • Support ad-hoc initiatives that require Treasury Capital input, e.g. projects related or the preparation of responses to consultations and industry wide impact analysis

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Strong analytical skills and controls background
  • Accounting or Finance related work experience in banking sector, ideally in Finance, Treasury or Risk
  • Effective stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead and drive initiatives with a structured and focused approach.
  • Excellent MS Excel, ideally with macro and VBA experience
  • Excellent in MS power point
