Associate Director Risk Surveillance, Sydney
We have an outstanding opportunity to join our dynamic Risk Surveillance team as Head of ANZ Risk Surveillance based in Sydney. In this pivotal role, you will have responsibility for the Trade Surveillance principally related to the capital markets trading activity.
You will be responsible for ongoing and regular review of communication and trading activity to identify improper behaviour or activities counter to our obligations as a market participant - including market manipulation, market misconduct, and insider trading. You will be a point of escalation and decision for alerts assessed by the surveillance team members as unusual and requiring additional investigation, and at times you will also review alerts generated directly. You will work with business Compliance, Traders, Desk Heads and Operational Risk regarding specific alerts ensuring we meet regulatory requirements and regulator expectations of surveillance appropriate to Macquarie's activities.
You will support the development and enhancement of the frameworks and processes necessary for the effective operation of the Risk Surveillance function and provide input to an ongoing program of work to enhance surveillance models and technology regionally and globally.
With demonstrated experience in a similar role, you will have a deep understanding of trading and surveillance within FX, fixed income, and futures markets. Knowledge and experience in equities, commodities and derivatives trading will be beneficial. You will be familiar with surveillance applications including SMARTs Broker, KX, Trading Hub MAST.
With a passion for people, you will have managed diverse high performing teams and be able to lead and support your team providing hands-on support and guidance. You will be able to develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both regionally and globally. With outstanding communication skills, you will be self-directed with the ability to proactively identify and analyse problems and propose viable solutions.
