The Associates Programme is a two-year scheme designed to rotate individuals early in their careers through various departments within Private Banking and Operations in order to develop strong leadership skills and equip the individual to drive the future success of the business. This programme will allow the Associate to rotate every 3-6 months to gain different business experiences and broaden their abilities. The target start date for the programme is September 2018.

Programme Highlights

  • Rotation plan: Designed to offer a variety of experiences within the Private Banking business, Associates will rotate through departments such as: operations, sales and relationships, client service, implementations, change & technology and commercial/marketing.
  • Mentorship: On joining, Associates will be paired with two mentors; one a peer and the other, a more seasoned manager. These mentors are there to provide support and guidance during the programme and should be an invaluable resource to the new Associate.
  • Thoughtful career management: Associates will have regular feedback sessions and performance reviews with their manager and Human Resources to formulate their individual growth and development goals.
  • Orientation in the United States: Associates in good standing will visit our headquarters in Oaks, Pennsylvania where they will learn about SEI’s business directly from senior management, have a chance to network with their US colleagues and learn about team work and leadership during a rowing activity on the Schuylkill River – led by an Olympic Gold medalist.
  • Upon successful completion of the programme, Associates will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position matching their interests and strengths with the business needs at the time.

    Expectations & Best Practices:

  • As a successful Associate we would expect you to keep current and have a genuine interest in the Financial Services industry. This would include staying up to date current market conditions, regulations, SEI products and services as well as maintaining ongoing and effective communication of these with client business practices.
  • Associates will be expected to adhere to all relevant FCA requirements and compliance.
  • In addition to their responsibility in each rotation, Associates may be assigned other ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Position Requirements:
    Successful Associates typically possess the following skills and experience:
  • Extensive extracurricular involvement; such as with charity work, travel abroad programs and experience, participation in various clubs, organisations or athletic groups, etc.
  • Strong capabilities with Excel
  • University or community leadership positions
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral
  • Natural curiosity and inquisitiveness
  • Perseverance when faced with obstacles
  • Logical and analytical thinking
  • Independence and proactivity
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Previous experience within the financial services industry through internships or other opportunities
  • A university degree (or equivalent), a plus though not required
