Reporting to: Finance Director

Location: London

Mobility: Office based with occasional travel as required, and flexibility to work part of the week remotely.

My client are one of Europe's largest and most prestigious venture capital firms investing in portfolio companies in the early stage technology space.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing Finance function in their Fund Accounting team.

They key duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the production of quarterly and annual investor reporting and financials
  • Assist with the capital call and distribution process by preparing notices, reviewing calculations and reconciling cash movements
  • Create and maintain checklists and logs to track LP transfers and KYC processes
  • Maintain oversight of LP registers and repository of fund documents
  • Organise and assist with the quarterly valuations process by liaising with underlying portfolio companies for input information
  • Assist with the annual audit and regulatory reporting
  • Monitor and oversee reporting calendars and ensure timelines are adhered to
  • Oversee and coordinate with fund administrators in multiple jurisdictions
  • Review and reconcile investor wire instruction details
  • Monitor credit facility drawdowns and repayment due dates, and prepare compliance reporting for credit facilities
  • Liaise with board of directors, organise board minutes and coordinate for approvals and signatures
  • Prepare responses for investor inquiries and audit confirmation requests
  • Assist the Finance team with compliance requests
  • Monitor drawdown requests from FoF vehicles
  • Coordinate the payment flow and tracking of fund invoices
  • Prepare and maintain management fee tracking schedules
  • Assist with updating data in portfolio monitoring software
  • Ensure best practices are applied consistency across a multiple-fund structure
  • Liaise with teams internally across the business, including Legal, Investor Relations, Operations, and Investment teams, to gather data and provide support as needed
  • Prepare ad hoc summary sheets and slides for the Finance team as needed
  • Provide additional support as needed to the Finance team, ensuring best-in-class procedures are followed

CANDIDATE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent degree grade (1st or 2:1) and strong A levels
  • Part-qualified accountant looking to continue their studies in ACCA or equivalent
  • 1-2 years accounting experience coming from an Accountancy Practice or Industry
  • Intermediate Excel/spreadsheets capabilities, and keen to further develop these skills
  • Comfortable with accounting concepts, including journal entries, accruals, and financial statements
  • Demonstrates an interest in finance and venture capital
  • Demonstrates an interest in technology
  • Eager to learn and attend training to grow and develop new professional skills
  • Excellent commercial judgment and analytical ability
  • Strong growth mindset
  • Out-of-the-box thinker
  • High quality communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
