Tradition is the interdealer broking arm of Compagnie Financière Tradition and one of the world's largest interdealer brokers in over-the-counter financial and commodity related products. CFT is represented in over 28 countries, employing over 2,500 people.

Tradition is currently seeking to appoint an Application Developer to be based within the London office.

Main responsibilities within the Application Developer position include:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and implementation of bespoke user interfaces to facilitate the company’s operations in financial markets.

You will primarily be developing user interfaces in C#, ASP.NET Core and Blazor. These interfaces provide our businesses with the tools to disseminate market information across a range of financial products including Currency Options, Equity Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives and Bonds.

Part of the workload will be working on projects to extend and adapt existing C# Winforms technology but there will also be the opportunity to write new software solutions to run inside the browser. Collectively this forms the application level in our platforms architecture and at times it will be necessary to work alongside other developers responsible for the middleware and databases.

The working environment is often fast paced and the individual we are looking for will be highly motivated; have an ability to problem-solve and work well under pressure. They will also be expected to manage projects independently and liaise with other internal teams. The development team you will be joining is based across offices in London and Stamford, Connecticut.

  • Liaison with target user groups and extensive interaction with other developers and managers within the team
  • Systems design and architecture
  • Development of bespoke user interfaces in C# and Blazor to improve business productivity and profitability.

  • Experience of working in a software development role

  • Visual Studio
  • HTML5/Javascript/CSS
  • Financial markets - derivative products in particular – advantageous
  • Regulatory Reporting (MIFID2 / SEF) – advantageous
  • Oracle databases, PL/SQL – advantageous
  • GIT/SVN - advantageous
  • FIX - advantageous
