Business Overview:

Capital Markets Origination (CMO) - Citi's Capital Markets Origination division is comprised of over 20 different groups, many of which are hybrids between Investment Banking and Sales and Trading. This unique mix of groups drives the fixed income and equities markets by providing products and liquidity for our clients.

EMEA Project and Infrastructure Finance (PIF) - PIF is an integral component of CMO (Capital Markets Origination) and is part of Citi's wider Global Structured Debt team. PIF focuses on greenfield and brownfield asset level project financings, primarily in the power and energy space, but also, selectively, within infrastructure. Mandates include acting as Financial Advisor (developing a financing strategy and structure while guiding clients through the financing process), Arranger (direct lending using the bank's balance sheet), and Global Co-ordinator/Bookrunner/Placement Agent (arranging third-party financing).

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the working within a team to execute project, energy and infrastructure project advisories, financings and third-party distribution
• Work closely with applicable industry bankers to participate in the identification and origination of  opportunities that meet certain target market and capital returns criteria
• Assist in the structuring and execution of applicable debt financing for distribution in the capital markets, loan syndication market, or both
• In select cases, participate in providing advisory services to clients seeking to debt finance a particular asset, on matters relating to debt capacity and sources, capital structure and procurement of export agency and other government guarantees
• Assist in performing a robust credit analysis with respect to each project /in infrastructure situation for purposes of seeking (as applicable) internal credit approval consistent with Citi's credit standards and capital return requirements
• Run and manage all aspects of the Financial Model
• As applicable, assist in presenting a particular project to one or more rating agencies for purposes of procuring a credit rating
• Together, with the applicable syndicate desk, interface with banks in the project finance market, as well as certain institutional investors, for purposes of syndicating and selling project risk
• Assist in managing any applicable franchise, reputational or underwriting risk with respect to a specific project situation


• Proven years of relevant experience appropriate to title
• Must have strong analytical and credit skills, including building and running cash flow models
• Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Some origination and execution experience, including documentation
• Some experience in acquisition finance and bridge loan situations helpful
• Power, energy / oil and gas backgrounds preferred
