Division Summary

Commodities and Operations Technology is responsible for implementing, maintaining and supporting effective and efficient information technology solutions for ICBC Standard Bank PLC (ICBCS). Commodities IT personnel use a combined in-house / outsourced approach to deliver and maintain critical systems used by the Commodities Global Markets business is well as develop and implement new solutions as required. It comprises of a Run-the-Bank (RTB) team that specializes in production maintenance and a Change-the-Bank (CTB) team that specializes in project implementations.

The .Net developer is expected to form part of the RTB team and will work closely with a number of in-house service providers, business users and stakeholders to implement new functionality and provide support for existing applications.

Job Purpose

CAM is an in-house system which supports cash derivatives settlement and post trade functions.

The development team is currently looking into enhancing various aspects of the CAM application for various asset classes. This role is released to full fill development and support requirements across the teams RTB and CTB commitments

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess business requirements and provide development estimates.

  • Translate user requirements to user stories and technical task.

  • Work closely with BA and QA teams to deliver fit for purpose technical solutions.

  • Deliver quality code changes according to timescales provided.

  • Provide RTB/lights on support and maintain continuity of service.

  • Provide regular updates regarding development progress.

  • Maintain an awareness of and comply with all Anti Money Laundering laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to ICBCS (Ensure adherence to all group standards and policies).

  • Act as part of the project team and be fully supportive to other members within the team.

  • Provide out of hours on-call support to support batches and ensure system stability and availability.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree or equivalent

  • Experience of working in a regulated environment, ideally Financial Services

  • Proven sales track record

  • Knowledge, technical skills and expertise:

  • Business knowledge

  • Understanding of the PRA/FCA rules and regulations or equivalent

  • Understanding of risk and control

  • Banking knowledge

  • Finance / budget management

  • Knowledge of emerging markets

  • IT skills
