Sikra Capital - A European long/short equity fund with a strategy focused on catalyst-driven value investments.
Role
Sikra Capital is seeking a short-focused equity analyst to provide analytical assistance to the PM and generate short investment ideas. The candidate must have the ability to conduct deep fundamental research and forensic accounting analysis in order to identify aggressive accounting practices related to, earnings quality, balance sheet issues and cash flow sustainability. The candidate must also be able to develop and maintain screens - both qualitative and quantitative - to contribute to the idea generation process.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities are:
  • Detailed financial modelling
  • Forensic accounting analysis
  • Communication with company management and IR as part of analytical process
  • Running of quantitative and qualitative screens
  • Aid in construction of short screen
  • Short idea generation


Qualifications
Person Specification
The following skills and experience are required for this role:
  • 4-5 years working experience in a short-focused research role
  • Strong accounting, preferably audit background
  • Ability to understand and analyse complex accounting topics and practices
  • Experience across a number of different industry sectors
  • Prior experience generating ideas
  • Experience analysing both European and US companies
  • University education grounded in finance and accounting
