MUFG - Operations is responsible for efficient and accurate processing, ranging from single-touch, single entry to multi-touch, complex transaction processing.

Control Data Management Operations sit within the Operations Control and are responsible for managing the Data Management of the Operations Office for EMEA.

The Control Data Management Administrator is responsible for ensuring that tasks are completed in line with Service Level Agreements and that processing times are adhered to, with complete accuracy.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

  • Input of Standard Settlement Instructions for FX, Money Market, Commercial Payments and Loan Products, Account opening, closing and maintenance and CIF administration and general static data registrations.
  • Queue monitoring and manual routing of SWIFT messages to internal departments and EMEA branches.
  • Input of various rates, common tables and holidays across various EMEA branches.
  • Completion of Audit Balance Confirmation requests from clients and auditors.
  • Ensuring that tasks are completed, all checklists are adhered to and any issues are escalated where appropriate.
  • Participate in effective cross training for other members of staff. 
  • Conduct UAT and testing when called upon.
  • Escalate in a timely manner. Attend meetings when required, and provide feedback of discussions.
  • Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective inter-departmental collaboration.
  • Operate as product specialist providing subject matter expertise where required.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • To ensure completion of expected processing by Control Data Management, with accuracy, compliance to procedures and regulations, and within expected time frames.
  • Be a representative for Control Data Management at various meetings, and use knowledge and skills to ensure accurate and informative responses, giving guidance of appropriate approaches to new projects and tasks.

 

Due to EMEA coverage, requirements for working are:

  • Boxing Day        on Rotation
  • Xmas Day          on Rotation (approx. 1 hr)
  • Bank Holidays    on Rotation (approx. 2 per year)
     

Shifts:

  • On rotation:
  • 7am – 3pm, 10am-6pm/finish, 9am – 5pm/finish,
     

No Annual Leave, and possibly work weekends, due to volumes on Audits:

  • January                1st two weeks
  • April                     1st two weeks

 

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a fast moving environment under time pressure whilst retaining strong attention to detail.
     

Preferred:

  • Back office banking experience.
  • Practical experience within an audit/balance confirmation environment.
  • Practical experience of account opening, closing and maintenance.
  • Practical experience of static maintenance of system information; such as currency holiday registrations, Standard Settlement instructions for products: Treasury, Remittances and Loans; rate registrations (related to FX and P&L valuations), and other static registrations.

 

Functional / Technical Competencies:

Essential

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel etc).
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong decision making skills, with excellent communication (written and verbal skills).
  • Recognise the need for change and the ability to generate new ideas.

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of SWIFT, payment processing, FX/MM settlements & standard settlement instructions.)
  • Practical experience within an audit/balance confirmation environment.
  • Practical experience of account opening, closing and maintenance.
  • Practical experience of static maintenance of system information; such as currency holiday registrations, Standard Settlement instructions for products: Treasury, Remittances and Loans; rate registrations (related to FX and P&L valuations), and other static registrations.

 

Education / Qualifications:

Essential

  • Educated to at least GCSE Grade C level or equivalent in Maths & English
