A leader among global investment managers specializing in alternative investment is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, with lots of room for progression.

A leader among global investment managers specializing in alternative investment is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, with lots of room for progression.

Scope:
The new hire will provide general support of London finance team consisting of 2 legal entity controllers, AVP & VP. Working across all entities in European region (and occasionally APAC), support legal entity controllers in preparing monthly/quarterly reports and identifying and implementing process improvements. Scope for role to expand as candidate progresses (eg to take on legal entity responsibility).
Example areas of involvement:

  • Balance sheet reconciliations - debtors, creditors, intercompany etc
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Work with AP team to reconcile Accounts payable ledger
  • Work with service centre team to ensure timely completion of bank reconciliations
  • Liaising with auditors during audit periods
  • Assisting in preparation of annual accounts


Experience:

  • Solid understanding of accounting/bookkeeping is required
  • Asset Management industry experience an advantage
  • Able to demonstrate strong numeracy skills
  • Posting journals into accounting system (Navision)
  • Contributing to team effort to move from quarterly reporting cycle to monthly
  • Assist with quarterly reporting to FCA, VAT returns and ad hoc reporting to other bodies such as ONS
  • Ad-hoc analysis and support to other team members

Education:
Degree or Accountancy qualification not required but need for an understanding of accounting basics is required. Relevant degree, AAT or equivalent qualification or who have already started their professional training (eg ACCA/CIMA) is ideal.
