Role Overview

Due to continuing growth of Brookfield’s European  investments, we are looking to fill several junior and senior accountant positions within the property and infrastructure group finance team. Working with both Brookfield corporate in New York or Toronto, and Brookfield’s’ portfolio companies across the Europe , accountants will support the finance Managers and Directors responsible for the regional FP&A, IFRS, and transactional reporting.

The Accountants will need to provide support in consolidating and analysing the performance of Brookfield’s investments in a succinct and timely manner. The growing number of portfolio companies provides excellent opportunity for the candidates to develop and improve processes associated with the many internal and external reporting requirements of Brookfield.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping, maintaining accounting records, managing statutory requirements, and have supervised ownership over:
  • Brookfield European Asset Management company, an FCA regulated investment manager
  • European holding companies
  • Asset-only investments with external property managers

Supporting the reporting and FP&A functions by reviewing and analysing trends in:

  • Quarterly IFRS reporting results packages
  • Quarterly full-year forecasts
  • Quarterly internal valuations
  • Yearly Business Plans
  • Track records and investment KPI

Supporting the Transactions functions:

  • On-boarding new investments
  • Transitional accounting and support
  • Technical accounting support for portfolio companies

Technical Skills

  • Achieved 2.1 in any degree discipline
  • ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, part qualified will be considered
  • Work experience in the accounting and finance functions spanning two years to five years of accounting or reporting experience
  • Very strong excel skills
  • Experience with accounting software (preferably MS Dynamics, Oracle HFM)


Preferred experience and practical knowledge of:

  • IFRS reporting
  • Public company reporting
  • FCA registered entities (i.e. funds / investment managers)
  • Real estate industry
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • Flexible, results and solution driven, with a team-first attitude
  • Proficiency in another European language not required but desirable
