Ronin Trading UK LLP is seeking a Chartered Accountant with prior experience working in financial services. The Accountant will support Ronin Trading UK LLP’s traders and work closely with the London Compliance and Operations Manager and the Accounting Department in Chicago.

Ronin Trading UK LLP (“RTUK”), a subsidiary of Ronin Capital, LLC, is a proprietary trading firm headquartered in London.  RTUK is regulated by the Financial Services Authority and is a member of the London Stock Exchange, NYSE Liffe and EUREX.  RTUK currently has proprietary trading operations covering a variety of markets.  RTUK does not conduct a customer business nor does it maintain custody of any customer funds or securities. 

Ronin Trading UK LLP is seeking a Chartered Accountant with prior experience working in financial services.  The Accountant will support Ronin Trading UK LLP’s traders and work closely with the London Compliance and Operations Manager and the Accounting Department in Chicago.  

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile the Firm’s trades and positions with clearing statements and third party confirmations on a daily basis.
  • Identify errors and omissions and take appropriate action to correct errors and arrange amendments.
  • Oversee and maintain the accounting control environment.
  • Provide coverage for the Fixed Income Trading Desk by entering trade data as required.
  • Reconcile the Firm’s bank accounts upon receipt of account statements.
  • Oversee the processing and payment of brokerage and general office invoices.
  • Assist in the  preparation of the Firm’s FSA003 report on a quarterly basis and complete the filing upon approval from the Financial & Operations Principal.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the Firm with the Parent Company’s Accounting, Department and work closely with the Parent Company’s Treasury and Operations Departments.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and perform P&L and balance sheet analysis/commentary for trading across various products including but not limited to equities, European Government Bonds, futures, options & currencies.
  • Preparation of year end accounts and to act as a liaison with the Firm’s auditors and other third parties (e.g., regulators) as required.
  • Assist in the Firm’s required regulatory reporting.
  • Draft and implement the Firm’s Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
  •  Assist in drafting the Firm’s Recovery Plan
  • Maintain proper and appropriate accounting and administrative records.
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA) required with at least 2 years PQE.
  • Experience of limited liability partnership accounting beneficial.
  • Relevant experience in the trading environment including accounting for fixed income and fixed income derivatives (futures and options).
  • Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to be flexible, reactive and work in a dynamic and fast-paced, environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties, as assigned.
  • Meticulous and detail oriented with the ability to properly enter and record information into the General Ledger. 
  • Proficiency with software and system applications (Excel, MS Word, etc.) and ability to learn internal applications.  Experience with Great Plains General Ledger and FRX Reporting system preferred.
  • Desire and aptitude to learn and understand the Trading Industry.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.
