Our Internship Program runs for 10 weeks, from June to August and is open to Masters or PhD (or equivalent) students who are passionate about gaining an insight into a quantitative career.
The Quantitative Engineering (QE) Group at Credit Suisse is responsible for designing and automating industrial strength pricing, trading, and risk management processes, based on a detailed understanding of financial product valuation methodologies. We work in collaboration with trading and sales, quantitative modellers and IT to develop technological solutions that enable the company to more efficiently deliver its product offering to its clients. The Quantitative Engineering Group reports to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer division.
The program is a combination of training modules and a development project. The training modules are run jointly by the QE and QS (Quantitative Strategies) groups and based on a unique in-house training program. The training covers topics such as software development in the context of quantitative modelling, as well as an introduction to the mathematics of financial derivatives, key financial markets and pricing methods. To apply for this program, we are looking for you to graduate in 2022 from your Masters (or 2021/2022 from your PhD) in a field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Econometrics, Data Science and Quantitative Finance. You will need to be available for the full 10 weeks and be able to start full-time employment in 2022.
We look for advanced software development skills and mathematical maturity, evidenced through your university work or other experience. Our main programming languages are F#, Python, C and C#; knowledge of any of these languages is not required but familiarity with both the object-oriented and functional paradigms would be an advantage. Prior knowledge of finance is not required; however, you should have a genuine interest in financial markets.
