Credit Control is responsible for the analysis, review and escalation of exposure within Pershing’s European Operating Entities. The role requires experience of securities settlement, an understanding of equity and fixed income markets and a working knowledge of the concept of how collateral can mitigate risk. An important element of the role is to identify potential risk issues, to work with internal and external parties to resolve such issues, and/or escalation to Credit and Market Risk Management.

Overview

Pershing provides a broad range of financial business solutions to investment banks, broker-dealers, wealth managers, financial planners and advisers across EMEA. We provide sophisticated front-end technology and flexible middle office capabilities with execution, settlement and custody services. These are supported by a robust regulatory and compliance framework with dedicated client asset experience and expertise.

 

Under certain agreements Pershing balance sheet maybe used to settle trades, mainly UK equities and fixed income instruments. A suite of daily reports are used to manage exposure of our client firms, with further investigation of positions which breach limits set by Pershing’s Credit and Market Risk Management.

 

Position Summary

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Produce quality reporting and analysis of client and counterparty exposure to management
  2. Produce client facing reports, ensuring collection of margin where applicable
  3. Ability to identify potential issues, communicate details to both internal and external parties
  4. Escalation of breaches of risk limits to Credit Risk Management, in line with Pershing and wider BNYMellon risk policies
  5. Review work flows and processes to achieve potential efficiencies
  6. Embed a risk culture within Client Service Delivery in order to clearly distinguish the roles and responsibilities between the first and second lines of defence.
  7. Provides support to lower level client processing roles.

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Minimum GCSE Grade C in Maths and English.

Desirable 1 year credit control experience

Proficient in Excel, with good macro writing skills and technology driven

Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal form, with an excellent attention to detail

Developed analytical skills and highly numerate

Willingness to embrace and implement a programme of change
