Our client is B2B telecommunications business that is embarking on a fast growth strategy to take advantage of a growing, fragmented sector in a post Covid world. This is a great business to join at an exciting part of its lifecycle. Operating like an entrepreneurial start-up with the security of being a small established business, the environment is the opposite of corporate! The office is in Hertfordshire and flexible working is actively encouraged. Looking for an ACA to work with the Director of Finance and Operations and cross function across sales, support and the broader finance team.

Key roles / responsibilities

The successful candidate will definitely have advanced excel and data skills, but will get fully immersed in the business operationally, trying to improve processes as well as having numerous ongoing financial and analytical projects and will genuinely be required to wear lots of hats. The list below is not exhaustive, but will include:

  • Managing and running the group’s financial model. This is required quarterly for debt reporting purposes but will also be used operationally to manage the business against KPIs
  • Analysing revenue from its different product lines and group businesses, making sense and reporting any errors from our network provider
  • Help provide integration assistance on acquisitions eg billing, finance, people. The candidate will also get involved in deal due diligence and execution
  • People manage two individuals who run the monthly bills, developing their skill sets whilst reporting key KPIs
  • Improving (and often creating!) operational processes
  • Producing and presenting company materials for a variety of internal and external stakeholders, and future potential investors

Required skills, knowledge and experience

  • Educated to degree level, preferably with a relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA)
  • Advanced excel skills and ability to manipulate and work with large datasets
  • Excellent mix of analytical, technical and commercial skills
  • Proactive, hardworking, go getting attitude that is not afraid to get stuck in – the candidate must be as prepared to get into weeds as well as having a bird’s eye view
  • A team player with a can-do attitude
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior level, as well as at a more junior level
  • Good level of resilience
