About the role

Your role as a Service Engineer is important in the future of our Protection service. You will be accountable for efficient planning and tracking of support deliverables and ensuring stakeholders are regularly informed of status and progress, both within and across Protection.

On a day to day basis, this will mean being part of an engineering team who will:

  • Manage partner resources supply and demand
  • Identify and manage dependencies and risks within a work package, live service and leading partners as necessary to deliver mitigating activities.
  • Monitors performance against financial parameters, and reports on budgetary aspects within own area.
  • Builds key stakeholder relationships across sphere of influence to improve the overall service provided.


As a Service Engineer you will be expected to demonstrate and apply exemplary service engineering practices and skills, whilst working in a collaborative and agile environment.

What you'll do:
  • You'll be accountable for the effective partner delivery of application support services for Protection banking processes within agreed service levels.
  • You'll drive commercial value from partner teams, maximizing value and driving efficiencies whilst maintaining output and improving delivery quality.
  • Achieve financial targets for software license renewals.
  • Effective risk management and control, creating culture to facilitate timely identification and management of issues with appropriate regulatory assurance and compliance.
  • Have accountability for local management of supplier and partner cost and performance within Group IT supplier management framework.


About you

Essential Skills:
  • Manage suppliers & partners establishing work schedules and budgets
  • Sound decision-making abilities when faced with complex demands and issues that can, and will, arise throughout delivery of services
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with high attention to detail.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the different departments - identify support issues & opportunities for improving processes


It would be great if you have a Service Management background, particularly in the areas of Incident and Problem Management. Any knowledge of Service Introduction processes, their implementation and the various ways to apply them in an Agile environment would be brilliant too, but don't worry if you don't have that, we can help you learn.
