The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Salesforce Platform Engineers to join our Transformation and Innovation Team.

The Transformation & Innovation team joins up our capabilities, processes and governance across Change and IT to provide both a strategic capability plus a leading edge technology footprint to support the transformation of M&GPrudential and delivery of our Vision for 2020 and beyond. The role of the function is to collaborate across the business to initiate, design and manage strategic change for M&GPrudential in a holistic manner. The function will also focus on providing affordable and reliable technology solutions and services that will very much be at the heart of Prudential's business success.

Our Platform teams, are looking for highly motivated Enterprise Security engineers with strong technical skills, problem solving abilities, deep customer affinity and strong communications skills to join our Platform operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for development of a DevOps implementation (aligned with devOps strategy) in support of Prudential Wealth customer projects
  • Create a repeatable process to support continuous delivery, optimization, monitoring, release management of large scale Salesforce within a wider cloud ecosystem
  • Work alongside Platform Engineers to stay up to date on the latest updates to the Wealth Agile Studio.
  • Responsible for driving operational excellence by implementing strategies for continuous delivery of Salesforce and any dependent software on the cloud.
  • Develop and deliver DevOps related workshops to customers and feature teams to ensure the quality of Salesforce implementations.
  • Develop and extend tools for continuous integration, automated testing and release management including adoption of tools like Git, JIRA, VSPS, Code Quality, Automated Testing tools etc.
  • Build and execute scripts to automate packaging and deployments
  • Evaluate new Salesforce releases and applications, participate in plans for their implementation, and remain current with Salesforce administration best practices
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with external vendors to achieve project goals, where necessary
  • Collaborate with customers, integration partners and other team members to uncover pain points with processes and identify optimization opportunities
  • Prototype and pilot new tools and features to help deliver faster, with less manual intervention
  • Promote SAFe agile principles and methodology, follow various engineering practices and approaches
You will have:

  • The Salesforce DevOps Engineer must be comfortable working in a fluid environment supported by a scaled agile development framework. A strong desire for success, a positive demeanour and an ability to communicate and build partnerships with cross-functional groups.
  • BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years Salesforce Administration, Release Management or Developer experience
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer credentials
  • Ability to read and interpret Apex, Visualforce, Java, SQL/SOQL code
  • Expert technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps) Microsoft Azure knowledge & hands-on experience
  • Experience of cloud & container technologies and solutions(particularly Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes) and other SaaS/PaaS technologies
  • Able to succeed in a fast paced, high growth work environment. Experience of operating in agile working practices and exposure to Atlassian products (Jira and Confluence), GitHub
  • Exposure to continuous integration/ continuous development related systems and techniques (e.g. Azure DevOps (VSTS) / Jenkins)
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills, a phenomenal teammate with strong analytical, problem solving, debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Track record of interacting with all levels of management
  • Track record in data analysis (through work)
  • The ability to drive decisions and be hands on.
