We want to add a skilled and experienced engineer to our team, to act as an expert voice as we transform our Network Infrastructure.

You will have responsibility for leading a team of Infrastructure Engineers delivering the transformation of our current Networks into a world class zero trust environment.
You'll make sure best of breed products and services are deployed and that our internal capability is enhanced, with the aim of reducing complexity and resource requirements.
You will also have the ongoing responsibility across products that make up DWP's Network Services.
Working in collaboration with a range of internal/external partners, stakeholders and customers you will ensure the operational stability, robustness, resilience, availability and quality of DWP Networks.
This is significant work, with often challenging deadlines. You'll have the expertise and experience to deal with this, and to help others do the same.
You should also have the deep technical knowledge to enable you to write the Knowledge Articles and operational working practices that will define our practice in Networks.
What skills and experience do you need to show us?
Experience of designing, building and supporting network infrastructure in large scale organizations circa 100,000 users and 1000 campus sites.
The leadership and communications skills you'd associate with a role at this level
Enterprise Data Centre Network solutions, specifically on Cisco, F5, Palo, Checkpoint and Velocloud.
802.1x and network Segmentation technologies.
Secure private gateway solutions to AWS, Azure, O365.
Implementing security and authentication solutions based on next generation firewalls / application firewalls, specifically Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Forum Sentry and F5 BigIP.
Meraki WIFi campus designs and installations.
LAN campus designs
Thorough understanding of TCP/IP routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP and common network services, including Directory Name Service (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), and load-balancing techniques
Experience of designing and implementing VMWare, Zero-Trust, SDN and Network Management Solutions
Experience in implementing server virtualisation techniques, Network Functions Virtualised (NFV)
