In DWP our Desktop Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for support and maintenance of infrastructure solutions and services, providing and operating desktop services including office products, virtualised technologies and distribution toolsets.

It's your job to improve the health, resilience and reliability of systems which enable millions of people to access the support and payments they need.

Working in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers you'll make sure services are delivered and used as required. Our infrastructure engineering team also work with and supports third parties to provide infrastructure services.

You will provide 2nd line support for incidents, problems and changes, applying the right techniques and methods to get the job done. You'll also help us to find better ways to do things.


What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Significant experience acting as 2nd line support for incidents, problems and changes to infrastructure solutions and services.
  • Experience of performing the administration and support of all infrastructure solutions and services, specifically: Windows 10, Citrix Environments, Office 365, and DNS/DHCP.
  • Experience of technical-change impacting and performing changes in a live service environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multiple technology domains.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at different levels, across level 3 technical teams, business users, architecture and 3rd party suppliers and end users.
  • Strong stakeholder management skillsets, with ability to communicate effectively across all organisational levels.
