Lead Network Engineer
About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a technical network lead within the CBS network team, this role will act as an escalation point for all technical queries from the business and team alike. The role requires the successful candidate to have full knowledge and understanding of the network infrastructure and all technologies that underpin it.
Working with the network architects to help define and futureproof the infrastructure, always looking to maintain a balance between forward thinking ideas to continually improve while maintaining the correct level of stability to ensure uninterrupted service for our members and end users. Stakeholder management will form a large part of the role with various business forums and gateways (eg.CAB) to present in.
This role sits above both the solution delivery aspect and BAU support team so will require the ability to 'context switch' between a project delivery position and a restore service position at the drop of a hat when the need arises. The successful candidate needs to be as comfortable with the pressures of a P1 incident as they are with a project delivery deadline. They will need to own the Operational Acceptance Testing(OAT) process to ensure anything delivered that will be within the teams responsibility has undergone vigorous OAT to make certain that it is fit for purpose and provide the full resilient solution required.
Due to the nature of the position within the team the role will need to own the Document Review process to ensure all Design, Delivery and Service documentation meets the standard required and relevant challenges are raised, any pertinent information is then cascaded to the rest of the team through team meetings and knowledge sharing sessions.
The successful candidate needs to be vocal around improvements they identify and would like to make to the infrastructure and really drive them through to completion focussing on the benefits to the Society as a whole.
Security and Risk are large factors within any company and this is no exception at CBS. As a senior technical member of the team, security and risk need to be in the thoughts and considerations of everything we do as a team. This role will need to own and manage the technical risks of the team through to resolution.
