Lead Solution Architect (MUST BE SC CLEARED)
- 2.5 month contract + extensions
- £745 per day + expenses (Inside IR35)
The Lead Solution Architect will be responsible for ensuring compliance of design work undertaken in their Service Executive with the Design Directorate's Enterprise Architecture policy and principles and for maximising the reuse of artefacts and architecture building blocks, whilst managing necessary derogation's and waivers from enterprise architecture.
The Lead Solution Architect will also lead and support the coordination of designs with other Solution Executives, including managing inbound and outbound dependencies, both technical and temporal.
The Lead Solution Architect will coordinate design work undertaken under their leadership with the Portfolio Integration Office to ensure that delivery timescales, dependencies and risk are effectively managed
The Lead Solution Architect will also provide SME guidance and support to the Design Authority Board (as an ad-hoc member, when required), and will work with Solution Architects to establish and promote Defence Enterprise Architectures and re-use of Core Architectural Components and Technologies/Tools.
Lead the design and development of appropriate elements of technology options, tools, services and technical models, with the relevant technical domain and Service Executive scope. Influence the development of and ensure adherence to coherent Defence Enterprise Architectures to drive convergence, coherence and re-use of ICT components.
Provide professional leadership for solutions architecture within the Service Executive, promoting technical excellence, innovation and driving continuous improvement of practice, solutions and design products. Provide technical thought leadership and horizon scanning within the Service Executive's scope and field of influence.
Direct the capture and development of capability and business requirements, transforming them into systems or service designs, constraints and supporting contextual documents, specifically for technologies selected and technology configurations.
Advise Programme and Project Managers to ensure that service supplier's plans and products are aligned with technology strategy, coherent with the relevant technical architectures and compliant with policies and standards.
Innovation and Continuous Service Improvement (CSI):
Lead CSI opportunities through the investigation and introduction of innovative technical capabilities. Support CSI improvements to technologies on behalf of the CSI Lead or Business Process Owner.
Engage with key suppliers to build the working relationships with service suppliers to optimise market intelligence to to influence product roadmaps.
Subject Matter Expertise:
Provide Subject Matter Expertise for core technologies, including contribution to the Defence Manual of Information Communications Technology.
