Job Summary: The role primarily involves reviewing documents in connection with the loan and loan related product (loan agreements, term sheets, tax opinions) and advising colleagues in the Business, Legal and Credit in relation to tax (including VAT) risks. The successful candidate will also work with external tax advisors, as well as partnering internally with global Corporate Tax colleagues, including colleagues covering VAT.

There will be good on-the-job training in a supportive environment where a positive team approach provides the benefits of an excellent working environment and very good opportunities for technical and personal development. As the loan products cuts across a number of business lines, the successful candidate will also gain exposure to other JPMorgan lines of business and products.

The role provides for an excellent introduction to how a global bank like JPMorgan operates and the numerous products and services offered.

Essential Skills / Experience: The successful candidate must speak excellent English and must be professionally qualified (e.g. tax, law, accounting etc) and must have worked in the past, or currently be working, providing tax advice in a law or accounting firm. It is essential for the candidate to like dealing with people, be of flexible disposition and that they be a good team player. He/she should be capable of communicating the tax issues to non tax personnel and must be interested in learning the commercial context in which the tax advice is being given. The successful candidate must be capable of working under pressure in a commercial environment while not compromising technical or ethical standards. A willingness to approach new and unfamiliar issues in an analytical and logical manner is required.

Desirable Skills / Experience: A UK tax background is not a requirement. A language other than English would be helpful but not necessary for the right candidate. A working knowledge of FATCA and VAT would be helpful but not essential.
