Mortgage Business Development Manger

Why apply for this role?

At Santander, we've built strong, effective and loyal relationships with our mortgage intermediary firms.

We've done this by providing a best in class service. And this is where you'll come in. One minute you will be deepening relationships with our existing clients and the next you will be proactively generating new business.

You'll listen to our customer's needs and clarify their objectives. You'll provide them with market insights, developments, and opportunities. You'll showcase Santander's range of suitable products to deliver a business solution to their needs. Not only this, but you'll become a technical expert in our product, risk policy and operational process.

We take pride in our work, and so will you.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing a Quarterly Business Plan.
  • Using market intelligence to support planning, prioritisation and decision making.
  • Adapting plans to reflect changes in circumstances.
  • Implementing strong time management and a structured approach to diary management.
  • Remaining an expert in your field.
  • Building broker confidence through accurate information, guidance and ownership of potential issues.

What we're looking for

  • CEMAP qualified with an extensive knowledge of mortgage products and criteria.
  • Vast knowledge of the whole intermediary external marketplace, having up to date knowledge on a range of external lending criteria within the market. A vast knowledge on this will be highly desired.
  • Excellent relationship management skills: experience managing business to business relationships is highly desired.
  • Analytical, able to analyse data to view trends, patterns or issues and take action.
  • Proven track record meeting objectives, with the ability to work with high volumes, remaining organised and structured.
  • Demonstrate personal ownership and tenacity to improve customer experience.

What else you need to know

Given the recent impact of the Coronavirus outbreak we will be conducting all interviews via telephone or video-conference where possible.

This role will cover the South Wales Region, you will therefore need to be based here.

How we'll reward you

As well as a competitive salary, you'll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs.

  • Competitive salary
  • Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus
  • Pension with generous contributions of up to 12.5% from Santander, depending on your own contribution and length of employment with us
  • 27 days' holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year
  • Voluntary healthcare benefits at discounted rates such as private medical insurance, dental insurance, healthcare cash plan and health assessments
  • Benefits supporting you and your family, such as death-in-service benefit, income protection, and voluntary life assurance and critical illness cover
  • 24/7 access to an online employee discount platform
  • Share in Santander's success by investing in our Sharesave and Partnership shares plans
  • Support your favourite causes through charitable giving and our community partnerships
