We now need a Claims Management Consultant to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Group CMS function, so it can Provide security and peace of mind to our customers by offering protection, home finance and annuities propositions, and deliver great service and propositions that are valued by our customers.

Job summary

To manage and authorise enhanced claims management activity (through the implementation of the CMS VIP proposition) having responsibility for the technical management and service delivery on their portfolio of claims identified as requiring progress towards successful resolution.  Ensure the provision and delivery of treatment, rehabilitation initiatives and return to work plans, visiting employers and intermediaries as required.

What you’ll do

  • To manage own portfolio of new and/or ongoing IP claims, providing the appropriate claims management activity to achieve resolution of claims through recovery, rehabilitation or settlement by commutation. 
  • To visit employers (in line with the scheme risk) and IFA’s to discuss management of own portfolio of claims.  Build and maintain strong relationships in line with Canada Life’s CMS programme, providing service and technical support for clients and contacts (internal and external). 
  • To represent Canada Life and the CMS team in positive discussions on claims resolution and rehabilitation with parties involved in the care of a claimant e.g. GP, Consultant
  • Demonstrate and apply a detailed knowledge of Claims Strategy and of Group Income Protection products, claims handling practices, market practice and legislator, regulatory and taxation issues.
  • To support the provision of metrics and service statistics and reporting of portfolio to management, clients and scheme underwriters
  • To constantly strive to improve the claims management and resolution process and deliver service to customers which meets the “Best in Industry” standard

Who you are

  • Technical capability in the adjudication and management of IP Claims
  • Customer facing skills to support external (service and technical) discussions with dedicated Employers, IFA’s and 3rd Parties – the ability to build strong working relationships
  • The ability to solve problems and take a broader view
  • An understanding of claims strategy /philosophy and the ability to support its implementation
  • Experienced in claims adjudication/management and experience in contact with external clients
  • To be able to commit to travel as required
  • Preference for some understanding of the use of rehabilitative services in successful claims management
  • Clean driving licence
  • Suitably located to provide CMS to clients in South East of England
