Regulatory Change Manager

We are seeking a Regulatory Change Manager to join JP Morgan in Bournemoth on an initial 6 months contract. We require someone with good knowledge of ECB regulations with experience of managing large transformation banking projects within Europe.

The Role

The scope of the role covers aspects around change management, business resiliency risk and controls oversight, regulatory commitments & regulatory requests. Key element of the role is to provide change management support to CIB Business Resiliency Leads to enable them to discharge their oversight responsibilities. This involves alignment of the Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) resiliency program in adherence with the EU regulatory guidelines; ensuring consistency of process and output, facilitating monthly review forums, maintaining documentation, preparing for meetings with EU-based Regulators, facilitating meetings with key stakeholders as well as various ad hoc requests. In addition, the candidate will be exposed to a varied landscape of transformation initiatives and be involved with deploying resiliency management practices supporting the Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Business Resiliency Team.

This role is an excellent opportunity to work in a core business resiliency team with exposure to a key regulatory agenda and direct interaction with Business and Technology senior management. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills and demonstrated success in project/change management, driving multiple complex and large-scale initiatives. The individual must be extremely disciplined and organized, yet comfortable in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment. A high energy, fast paced, attitude and commitment to success and being results focused are essential. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, as well as, experience presenting and influencing senior managers are a must.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves supporting the CIB Business Resiliency Management with building and maintaining a robust governance framework for the EMEA branches Business resiliency Change and Transformation landscape. Some of the key activities involved are -

  • Review and interpret Regulations impacting the Legal entities from a business resiliency perspective and recommending approaches for issues
  • Lead the Business Resiliency Program change and implementation initiatives.
  • Plan and report project status to senior management, identify, mitigate and resolve risk and issues across teams, and provide project guidance to ensure completion of assigned projects
  • Manage stakeholder expectations effectively, facilitate decision-making by providing right level of information and timely escalation when required
  • Lead the remediation actions arounds Regulatory findings in coordination within CIB and cross LOB resiliency managers
  • Support Regulatory reviews around business resiliency, coordinating responses to RFIs

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

1. Understanding of the Financial Services industry, the regulatory environment and impact on business strategy:

  • Work experience in the Financial Services industry, with a good understanding of the products and markets in which CIB operates
  • Prior experience of facilitating formal Governance or working in a Risk & Controls / Business Management related role (desirable)
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of change management and Risk & Controls management

2. Excellent Communication Skills:

  • Well developed written and verbal communication with the ability to provide opinion and challenge as appropriate
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to succinctly communicate and collate information requirements to / from lines of business

3. Experience in delivering high quality written deliverables on time:

  • Ability to consistently deliver work of a high standard, to tight timelines
  • Ability to balance and deliver upon multiple delivery requests whilst managing expectations
  • Ability to consistently deliver results with little direct supervision and good judgement as to when to seek assistance or escalate

4. Outstanding Work Ethic:

  • Ability to deliver to time and quality expectations and to influence the agenda of others
  • Deals comfortably with ambiguity and uncertainty; is flexible and has the ability to create clarity and consensus

5. Technical Competencies:

  • Excellent working knowledge of all MS Office applications
  • Strong Analytical/Data Mining Skills
